PD was the first hob I ever bred and he gave me my first two litters of beautiful babies. He was the sweetest, most lovable ferret and even people who did not like ferrets fell in love with him. He was curious, mischievous, and full of life right up until the end. He was the love of my life and would sit curled up with me and my son, Wesley, watching TV and just cuddling with us. The night he left us my son and I sat on the couch with PD in between us and told him how much we loved him and if it was his time to go we understood. He looked up at me once more with those beautiful black eyes and said good-bye. He kissed Wesley good-bye, kissed me good-bye, and then took his last breath as he left this world to go to the rainbow bridge. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Saber was a wonderful black sable jill. She was curious and wild and loving. She was only with us for such a short time, but brought so much joy and happiness. She was the first one ready to play and the last one to go to bed at night and was always happy to share a kiss with you. I'll miss my little girl, my little Saber tooth tiger who never knew when to quit even in the end.
Memphis was a handsome silver hob who I expected to be with me for a long time so I don't even have a picture of him. He was loving, gentle and special. He died suddenly in his sleep with no warning, no illness, nothing. A necropsy showed juvenile lymphoma. There was no warning and I didn't get to say good-bye. Remember this and love your fuzzies everyday for this may be the last.

Abby was my son's first ferret. He was a handsome champagne hob. The first time Wesley saw him at another breeder's house he fell in love and carried him around the whole time we were there even though he was a "stinky hob." Abby was given to Wesley by Scarlett on his 7th birthday right before a show we were planning on going to. Scarlett talked to Wesley on the phone and asked if he would like to take Abby to the show with him and he was so excited. Then she told him Happy Birthday he's yours to keep and Wesley sat down on the floor and cried he was so happy. They made quite a pair and were inseparable until the end. When Abby passed I thought it would break Wesley's heart. Abby may be gone now but is definitely not forgotten as Wesley now owns his son Rusty, daughter Penny and grandson Dusty and everytime he looks at them he sees in their faces a little bit of Abby to help him remember again the special friend that he lost.
Mishka was a shelter ferret at Heart of Ohio Ferret Assoc. She and her cagemate Mingus had been at Scarlett's just a few weeks when I met them and fell in love. Mingus was a big, light silver gib that everybody wanted, but Mishka was a little, tiny thing who was already showing signs of adrenal disease. They had to go as a pair and go they did right to my house and stole my heart in July of 1999. During the time that Mishka owned me (I never owned her) she had adrenal surgery and was treated for insulinoma. Lymphoma was suspected but not confirmed until her death. I still miss my little girl who I referred to as my Mishy Mine. Everything was hers including my heart which she took a huge piece of when she left. Rest in piece my littlest angel until we meet again.
Mingus was a handsome old man who was a rescue and one of my first ferrets. In March 2002 he had bilateral adrenal surgery and was diagnosed with cancer. He was only given six months to live, but he was a fighter and refused to give up. He was always ready to give you kisses and to cuddle right up til the end. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Teddy Bear was my third ferret and came to me unexpectedly. We were in a petstore one evening picking up supplies when I stopped to look at the babies in the cage. He was so cute and tiny, I just had to hold him. The asst. manager said nobody was allowed to hold him because he was a fierce biter and he was being sent back to the breeder he came from. I was afraid what would happen if he was sent back so I begged to hold him til they gave in. He was so sweet and cried like a little bear. I convinced them to let me take him home and after more begging they allowed us to have him. Once we walked out of that store he never bit again. Mingus & Mishka came to me three weeks after Bear did and they were his first cagemates and I believe his first friends ever. When Mishka passed in January, Bear became withdrawn but bounced back after time. Then Mingus passed away and it was like his whole life ended and he lost all interest in everything. Just five short days after I lost Mingus, Bear decided he had to go be with his friends. I found him curled up in the bed he and Mingus had slept in. Finally at peace and with his friends. I will miss my Teddy Bear.
Wilbur was a handsome silver ferret who loved to cuddle. A huge boy with a wonderful personality and the ability to make me laugh at absolutely nothing. He will be greatly missed.
Cocoa was my first baby born here. She was one of four girls and quickly stole my heart. A beautiful, chocolate roan with a spunky personality, I never knew what to expect from her. She produced several beautiful babies over her lifetime and I'm happy I have her daughter Mayhem who looks and acts exactly like her. In December 2003 she developed a respiratory infection and was treated by my vet. On December 31st she went back to the vet and was diagnosed with pneumonia and a bad infection. The vet kept her with him over the holiday to give her injections of antibiotics and thought she was responding nicely, but she crashed and he lost her. She will be greatly missed, but she lives on in all the beautiful babies she has left behind.
